The Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 is a blade putter that has garnered significant attention from golfers. Many reviewers express a strong affinity for its classic design and feel. The putter is often seen as a status symbol, with several users highlighting the brand's prestige. However, the reviews also reveal some mixed opinions, particularly regarding the technology and value proposition compared to other putter brands. Many users are upgrading from other putters, and some are returning to a blade style after using mallets.
Several users praise the Newport 2's performance, particularly its feel and weight. One user, u/FakoPako, mentions liking the weight and overall look, even though they were new to blade putters. Another user, u/Richard_Tips, noted that they had 29 putts and a 76 Saturday after getting the putter. However, some users, like u/Savings_Machine_6962, found that their accuracy wasn't as good after switching back to a blade from a mallet, suggesting that the putter's performance can be subjective and depends on individual putting styles and preferences. Several users also discuss the importance of grip and shaft upgrades, such as u/Important-Season-448, who is looking for a grip with a similar feel and weight to their previous putter. Others, like u/DudeOkThen, are considering shaft upgrades to improve performance.

* Subjective Performance: The putter's performance can be subjective and may not suit all putting styles.
The Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 is a well-regarded blade putter that offers a classic design and a premium feel. While some users may find the technology lacking compared to other brands, the putter's performance and brand prestige make it a popular choice. The reviews suggest that the Newport 2 is a good choice for golfers who appreciate a traditional blade design and are willing to invest in a premium putter. However, golfers should consider their individual putting styles and preferences before purchasing, as the putter's performance can be subjective. I’m debating on getting the KBS GPS Graphite putter shaft. I game a Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2. The putter is my baby and I putt well with it but want to hear feedback on shafts. Those with upgraded shafts, what shaft did you get, what pros and cons have you seen with the shaft?
Almost pulled the trigger on this beauty yesterday. Got fit into a Bettinardi Inovai 8.0 after Club Champion’s putter fitting experience. 2nd photo has current gamer on right, a Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2.5 that I can’t seem to find the center of the club face. Anyone ever used a Bettinardi? If so, how do they roll on the course? I loved the feel in the studio
Is this real? If so, does the read white and blue USA coloring make it worth more?
One of my colleagues just got a Scotty from Temu for a laugh, it looks and feels very good however the paint is the key. The paint inside the lettering & weights looks almost dirty, like there’s sand in it or just debris. That’s about the only thing on it I’d say was off and judging by the blue paint on the weights of that second putter I’d bet pretty heavy on it being fake.
Well, after waiting for 6 weeks, it finally arrived. I have to say, I never used blade putter, plus I am LH golfer so I had a hard time finding one to try out at the store. But when I did one time, I really liked the way it felt. The weight of it, the overall look and of course, the branding. To be honest, the technology on it is nothing special. It's just a slab on milled steel. Other putters like Odyssey are light years ahead of SC in tech. I currently use EXO7 putter. I cut it shorter to better "fit" me, so I thought. I like that putter, but I really didn't have anything to compare it to. It's my first "real" putter. But the more I was leaning towards blade putter, the more I liked how blade putters don't have all that "busy" stuff behind the face. I always felt like my EXO-7 had so much going on in the back. Yes, the gadgetry for aiming is nice, but I also use my ball marks to line up. I wanted something new. I wanted SC... Went to GG (I know I know) to get some basic fitting do
