Cooks rice perfectly (especially basmati rice) but it does take about 30 minutes. It is a lot more expensive than a regular rice cooker. We haven't tried cooking/steaming anything besides rice. A basic rice cooker will probably suffice if you don't plan to use it for anything other than rice. It does not make a mess and clean up is easy. Hinged lid is convenient and it looks good.
I like this rice cooker because of the Quick Cook setting- the rice comes out good but, only issue is that after each use you have to soak up the condensation that puddles around inside the rim %26 also within the rubber/plastic seal
I would give it 5 stars, but it lacks the notification beep when you press any button, and no scoop holder and not a self rewinding power cord, like my old one (same Panasonic) did. So 1 star off. Other than than that, it's pretty good. And price is just right too.
