Got lucky on eBay. So far it feels/looks great. Started gaming my dads odyssey white ice 1 putter and found I really don’t like the insert. It was soft but a little too soft. Distance control was off and I feel like feedback was tough to gauge. Very much a “feel” putter so I now know I like the milled face. I usually game a super select Newport or a special select Del Mar. I feel like the Cleveland fits in rather nicely with my Newport. If I was blindfolded and grips were the same I don’t think i could tell the difference. Great feel and rolls true on my practice mat. Grip is also very similar profile to the pistolini which for me is a huge plus since that is my favorite grip. Very happy with the purchase and for those looking for a Newport but don’t like the price point I’d say give the Cleveland a shot.\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/9gye9g6tcxpb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78c63619edda5e1154b975ebe0e3afb77fe685af","date":"2023-09-23","sentiment":"positive"},{"productId":"prod_283","source":"Reddit","sourceUrl":"https://reddit.com/r/golf/comments/16f5o29/best_feeling_relatively_inexpensive_blade_putter/","author":"u/anotherlibertarian","rating":null,"text":"I prefer the medium feel of the Odyssey #1 with the White Hot insert. \n\nI’ve seen these on Callaway prenowned for as low as $100. \n\nThe Cleveland Huntington Beach is very nice if you’re into a firmer feel (closer to your scotty) than the White Hot. \n\nI don’t think you can go wrong with any of those choices, I can’t find a KS1 to try out though. \n\nI’m not going to pay $200 for a putter that costs $99 dollars when it’s actually in stock.","date":"2023-09-10","sentiment":"neutral"},{"productId":"prod_283","source":"Reddit","sourceUrl":"https://reddit.com/r/golf/comments/16f5o29/best_feeling_relatively_inexpensive_blade_putter/","author":"u/misterkeef","rating":null,"text":"Bell putters. Vice, Takomo, 69, Orlimar, Callaway, and now Edel. I traded in all my old equipment to do this and with a strict budget.\n\nVice and Takomo are brilliant irons. Made my game look normal and had so much fun again. I started my year with my wife's 25 year old Orlimar irons. Also excellent, but a move to getting my adjustments was something I wanted. \n\nSo Edel: Just hitting them inside and on the range and there they are seriously fantastic. I really got them tweaked and boy they fit me perfectly. True love. So fun to hit. I got the 6-Wedge with a free 4-iron and Pins and Aces bag for $700. I would have paid twice for this quality for just 6 thru wedge. Getting a free club and killer bag is just more ❤️.\n\nDo not brush these DTC clubs off especially Edel. Here is me showing me work.\n\nYou can narrow it down by zip code\n\n* 85282: 1961-1966\n* 85029: 1966-1967\n* 85020: 1968-1973\n* 85068: 1973-2000\n* 85029 (again): 2000-present\n\nSince I think that last # is a 9, not a 0, that makes it a very small range. 1966 was the first year of production for the Anser, but they did not get the patent until 1967. Once they got the patent, they started stamping that on all of them (see pic of the Anser I just restored). Since yours doesn't have that, I'm guessing it means it was before the patent was issued.\n\nIn terms of value, I'm not sure. It was after they moved from 85282 in Scottsdale to Phoenix in the mid 60s that things started getting mass produced. Ansers from 85282 can be worth thousands. For the first iteration of 85289, you would have to take it to a golf equipment historian to find out a lot more. One thing that I do know is that pulling off the original grip and scrubbing the patina can kill the value. I didn't go at the one I pictured until I was 100% sure it wasn't a collectors item.\n\nhttps://preview.redd.it/8248hub5b9lf1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=w","date":"2025-08-26","sentiment":"positive"},{"productId":"prod_283","source":"Reddit","sourceUrl":"https://reddit.com/r/golfequipment/comments/1iz2yit/need_help_identifying/","author":"u/Itshuff","rating":null,"text":"Hey all!! However, some users find the lack of sight lines challenging. Overall, it's a well-regarded putter with a loyal following.","body":"## Overview\n\nThe Ping PLD Milled Anser putter is a modern take on a classic design, drawing heavily on the iconic Anser shape. This review analyzes 118 user reviews from various sources, primarily Reddit, to uncover the truth about this putter. The reviews span a wide range of experience levels, from beginners to seasoned golfers, offering a comprehensive perspective on the putter's strengths and weaknesses.\n\n## Performance\n\nMany reviewers rave about the feel of the PLD Milled Anser. Several users specifically mention the satisfying sensation at impact, describing it as “premium” and “smooth.” The milled face seems to be a key factor in this positive feedback, with many golfers preferring it over insert-based putters. One user stated, \"I really love the white hot OG insert. Never liked inserts but the feel of the ProV1x off that white hot OG is addicting.\"\n\nHowever, the lack of a prominent sight line is a recurring point of concern. Several users, including some experienced golfers, express difficulty with alignment, stating that they find themselves “crossing their fingers” on the course, hoping the putter is aimed correctly. One user noted, “As pretty as I think this Anser is, I’m not sure the lack of site line is beneficial for my game.” This suggests that while the putter excels in feel, it may require more practice and focus on alignment for some golfers.\n\nSeveral users also compared the PLD Milled Anser to other putters, particularly Scotty Cameron models. Some preferred the feel of the PLD, describing it as “dense” and “solid,” while others preferred the softer feel of the Scotty. This highlights the subjective nature of putter preference, with feel being a crucial factor in the overall experience.\n\n## Pros & Cons\n\n**Pros:**\n\n* **Exceptional Feel:** Many users praise the putter's feel at impact, describing it as smooth and satisfying.\n* **Classic Design:** The Anser shape is iconic and appeals to a wide range of golfers.\n* **Milled Face:** The milled face provides consistent feedback and a preferred feel for many.\n* **High-Quality Construction:** Users generally perceive the putter as well-made and durable.\n* **Customization Options:** The Ping PLD line offers customization options, allowing golfers to tailor the putter to their preferences.\n* **Good Value:** Compared to other premium putters, the PLD Milled Anser is seen as a good value.\n\n**Cons:**\n\n* **Lack of Sight Line:** The absence of a clear sight line can make alignment challenging for some golfers.\n* **Price:** While considered a good value, the putter is still relatively expensive.\n* **Subjective Feel:** The feel of the putter is subjective, and some golfers may prefer a different feel.\n\n## Verdict\n\nThe Ping PLD Milled Anser putter is a strong contender in the premium putter market. It excels in feel and offers a classic design that appeals to many golfers. The milled face provides a consistent and satisfying impact sensation, which is a significant selling point. However, the lack of a prominent sight line may pose a challenge for some, particularly those who rely on visual aids for alignment. Despite this, the putter's overall performance and build quality earn it high marks from a majority of users. If you value feel and appreciate the classic Anser shape, the Ping PLD Milled Anser is definitely worth considering. However, be prepared to spend some time practicing your alignment to maximize its potential.\n","aggregateScore":8.5,"prosConsFromReviews":{"cons":["Lack of a prominent sight line can hinder alignment","Price point may be prohibitive for some","Feel is subjective and may not suit all golfers"],"pros":["Excellent feel at impact","Classic and iconic Anser design","Milled face provides consistent feedback","High-quality construction and durability","Offers customization options","Considered a good value for a premium putter"]},"totalReviewsAnalyzed":224,"sourcesUsed":[{"name":"Reddit","count":224}],"generatedAt":"2026-02-19T21:43:11.243Z"}}
