I went in looking to upgrade my driver to the Elyte Core model from my Callaway Rogue St Max. After comparing my Rogue ST to the Elyte, it was clear as day the Elyte driver was better in just about every way for my swing. My attack angle is not ideal for the driver, with my average angle of attack being anywhere from -1 to 0 with the driver. This usually creates way to high of a spin number for me. My club speed is 105mph on average.\n\n For reference, my Rogue St Max is a 10.5° loft setup with -1 degree loft and a 50g stiff shaft. Elyte driver was 9° in neutral setting, with a 60g stiff shaft. Spin numbers on the Rogue were up at 3800+ spin, club head speed around 105mph, and total distance around 240-250 yards. Elyte averaged around 3200 spin, a bit faster club head speed of around 106-107mph and ball speed in the mid to high 150's. I've never loved a driver as much as this one. I went from hitting fades to baby draws, which is great for my course which has a bunch of dog leg lefts. I got this club about 2 months ago. I took it to the range 3 times to get it dialed in and have since played three rounds. Saturday morning I'm playing my local club and noticed a small crack on the back 9. Now it was 50 degrees that morning and warming up but the cold shouldn't cause a crack like this. I've done some research and have found that others are having the same problem. It’s essentially a measure of how good of a strike you put on the ball. 1.5 is a perfect smash factor. Current club regulations limit manufacturers to a smash of 1.5. The closer you hit it out of the center of the face, the closer that smash is to 1.5.\n\nRegarding speed, a good rule of thumb is that 2.5 times your club head speed is right around the max carry you can expect for a good strike with optimal launch conditions (launch angle, spin, etc). You are dead on as far as this metric goes. Based on my understanding of the numbers with this club you are leaving little to nothing on the table as far as distance goes. The question then becomes, how often are you producing numbers like this with this club?
