They use the SAM lab.  I was hesitant to do a putter fitting because it's just a flat stick, right?  The threads here convinced me that it was worth a try and, at the very least, I would learn something about my putting stroke.  I fully expected NOT to buy a new putter today, but I'll get to that in a minute.\n\nThe first two pictures are representative of my putting stroke with my gamer, a 30-something Ping Answer 2 blade.  As you can see, I line up 1 degree open, I'm 2 degrees open at impact, and I consistently hit a bit out on the toe.  I also learned that my loft (5 degrees) is WAY too high, which explains why I struggle with longer puts (the ball hops instead of rolls).  Lastly, my gamer is too long for me.\n\nThe last two pictures are for the putter I was fitted into, a fang style mallet. I decided to buy new clubs after nearly 20 years using Nike Slingshot irons and Sasquatch driver / fairway woods. The fitter in our area comes highly recommended, so I scheduled an appointment.\n\nWhile I did not have a brand preference heading into the fitting, I am very much an \"all the same brand\" kind of guy. In other words, I figured there would be a driver / iron match in one of the brands. Nope.\n\nI ended up with Mizuno JPX925 Hot Metal irons. I don't have all of the specs on the customizations yet, but I hit the irons much better than the others I tried. When I started warming up, I was hitting the \"off the shelf\" 7 iron about 135 yards. Once I got warm, I had added some distance, but not much distance. Once I was warm and started to hit the Mizuno 7 iron, my distance and accuracy really improved. I was able to consistently hit the ball 188 yards with a slight draw. The Mizunos also feel great.\n\nBy the time we got to the driver fitting, I was pretty tired. The good news is that my ever-present slice was eliminated throughout the fitting process.
