He's quite an athlete and was breaking 100 almost immediately. Within a few months he was dipping below 90.  I took up golf again and was shooting mid 90s to begin with. I was playing with irons/woods from the 90s and a Bullseye putter from the 80s. There's nothing wrong with any of that stuff, but I'm not a good enough golfer to pull it off.  I figured I needed a little help.\n\nFirst, I added some hybrids, which I'd never had.  Those made a huge difference.  Those, I bought used on eBay (2014 model Adams).  Next, I bought a modern driver (PXG Gen 5 XF) that was huge and forgiving.  Next a new 3-wood (2021 model Adams--I've always loved Adams).  Then a couple of new wedges (Cleveland CBX Zipcore). My old irons from before I quit were some old Wilson's from probably the 80's. As I recall they were very balanced feeling with a lot thinner heads (not quite blades.)\n\nThe RAZR X HL's are extremely head heavy which feels awful to me. At first I could somewhat hit them but have since lost all confidence with them to the point I can't even hit them cause I'm expecting to smash them 2 inches behind the ball.\n\nI'm going to return them and get something else, looking for some suggestions for a more balanced feeling set.
